THE UK MAGAZINE FOR ALL WOMEN WORKING IN LAW
Association of Women Solicitors
Association Women Solicitors, London
The AWS is delighted to welcome the launch of the new publication, Legal Women. Edited by distinguished former Chair of the Association, and former co-editor of its Centenary Newsletter, Coral Hill, it will be a much-needed, inclusive platform for showcasing the fantastic work of the many individual groups of women involved in the law throughout the UK, helping to provide leadership of thought and practical suggestions for real change.
Christina Blacklaws, former President of The Law Society of England and Wales
Coral Hill, the founder and editor in chief, of Legal Women, is well-known in the legal profession for her activism but also pragmatism: she understands the business realities of law. She is an amazing campaigner and I am excited about what she will be able to achieve for gender balance through this publication. I am sure the magazine will have a significant impact in helping support the role of women in law and ensuring that businesses understand that diversity equals profitability and stability.
Karen O’Leary, Caldwell Robinson, Northern Ireland
The importance of this magazine cannot be underestimated in reaching out to women at all stages in their legal careers in offering relevant and pertinent information to inform, support and inspire.
Millicent Grant FCILEx QC (Hon); CILEx Past President 2017/18
This much needed new publication will seek to inform and empower women and support their roles across the legal profession and draw attention to the issues and challenges they face.
Janem Jones, Williams and Bourne, Wales
The geography of Wales and the necessity to travel long distances in rural areas has made it extremely difficult for women to attend evening meetings. A magazine will give an impetus to a meaningful discussion for women in law issues and provide useful topics for further research.
Jane Craig, Head of Family Department, Private Wealth Group, Pennington Manches Cooper
This new magazine provides an exciting opportunity for the sharing of all the wonderful ideas and initiatives of women working in law around the country, to promote diversity and bring about positive change. I am sure it will inspire new ideas, too, and encourage and support women who may be struggling.
Ivy Wong, Product Manager at Thomson Reuters and creator of the Legal Geek Mentorship Programme
I am delighted to support Coral Hill and the Legal Women magazine. It is so important for us to highlight the issues faced by women working in the law, and a magazine that aims to educate and inspire women across the industry is a fantastic initiative.
